Powerful Cordless String Trimmer Weed Eater

I was a little leary of this tool after reading some of the comments. After receiving this tool from unboxing to operation was less than 10 minutes and that was without reading the directions. I had to lol about one review saying it's hard to change the black handle to different positions. Lol your not supposed move the handle, you move the 2 pivot points on the tool which gives you a wide array of positions. The auto feeder works by pausing operation of the tool for a few seconds and as it slows down it spits out the string like it's supposed to. Conclusion: some people should not operate any kind of power tools if they have no clue how to use them. Ignore the negative comments. BTW I have an average size yard and was able to edge, trim and switch over to my blower all without a charge in between. Great tool.

I purchased this trimmer as I have a fairly small yard, 10 x 10 in the back and a small patch in the front of our drive way. Since we recieved a notice to do something about the unkempt yard, this was an easy solution. Assembly was very easy provided you have common sense and know how to use a phillips head screwdriver. This thing has impressive power and the automatic feeding spool is very convenient. Definitely would reccomend this trimmer if you are in need of a simple solution like the one I had. Please give it a shot as it is fairly priced and gets the job done right the first time.

The unit works great once I replaced the trimmer line that came with it. The problem with the supplied line is it was fused together in multiple places on the spool (it's like it was wound on the spool before the it cooled - basically a manufacturing defect) so there are a bunch of places where it gets stuck and can't feed off the spool. Making things worse is even if you unwind the entire line and then rewind the entire spool in an attempt to fix this problem, the places where the line was fused to an adjacent winding are weakened so they just break way too easily. So I just pitched the line that came with it and instead used my old line which I already had for use on my previous trimmer that finally died after decades of use. The result is the trimmer works perfect now. Note; it does not really "auto feed" the line, instead it will advance it about 1/4 inch each time you start the unit - so that's good to know. I've also read some reviews complaining it is not well balanced, which I don't agree with as you can easily adjust the handle to change the balance, although I found it to be well balanced centered right in the middle of the range it can be adjusted.

This trimmer is the greatest thing that's ever happened to my yard. I've had it for two years and I've kept it outisde since day 1 in rainy Portland, OR. It got used monthly for trims around the front and backyards, or less often for bigger jobs, cutting through huge and dense masses of foliage that had been growing out of control for months. This trimmer has powered through a lot of pretty serious stuff without missing a beat. Its power is always there when you squeeze the handle, and jams are incredibly rare. I've gone through one single cartridge of string the entire time I've had it.Before/after pics of my backyard are attached to this review. The only tool I used to clear all that was this trimmer.

I read reviews ahead of time and saw people posting about the auto feeder being an issue on this. So that was my first concern when I took it out for a test spin on some bothersome weeds. Low and behold, the auto feeder wasn't working and the string kept going down to nothing. After a couple of frustrating minutes trying to figure out why it wouldn't feed, I came inside and did a quick search of other reviews online and found one that said the auto feed doesn't work when you have the trigger pulled at full blast - instead, you need to feather the trigger a little (and keep the Rpms low) in order for the string to feed. So, I went back out and tried it and it worked like a charm. You can feather out a few inches in a few seconds. So, rather than buying different string or wasting time manually pulling out or rethreading the string, just ease up on the power and you'll be fine!

I have been overtaken by weeds and I love my cordless trimmer. However the first thing you should do is go to Youtube and watch a couple of videos. You can find everything from trimmer comparisons, to assembly instructions, how to thread the line, and of course, how to use it around your yard. Youtube is your friend in these things.This Cordless String trimmer is lightweight, easy to put together, and works well. Starting it is a breeze, there is no gas or oil to worry about dealing with, and it gets the job done. For regular maintenance, one fully charged battery should do the trick. For me, the weed situation got out of control, so it's taking a lot more than that. Plus I am always starting and stopping the trimming to look after my kids and do other stuff.What I really appreciate about this product is that they are not nearly as loud as gas products. The sound is tolerable, and I can still somewhat hear the world around me. I am not left with a massive headache after using them. There is no pull cord to deal with. You push a button instead. It feels safe and really isn't intimidating.When my kids are older, I think this will be a good trimmer for them to use. Yard work was not something I did as a kid, and it was not something I saw women doing. My mother hired people to manage hers. I want my son and daughter both to learn and feel capable of handling maintenance tasks.If you are a parent and using this trimmer, I do want to give you a small piece of advice. Do not pretend to be a mafia enforcer going out to "whack" the weeds. Your kids will not find that funny. They won't get the joke. They will stare at you blankly and possibly sigh or roll their eyes while you stand there dejected. Learn from my mistake.
