Do it yourself and save

Made of plastic but there are no moving parts to break off. Seems to be well built. I purchased it to take files off of a couple of hard drives that were on my old computer that had a bad motherboard. I could have paid someone to recover the data but not for what I paid for this docking station. Plus now I can still use those drives with my new laptop and the docking station.

So Far, So Good

Product arrived on time. The instruction manual was concise and clear, even though I didn't really need it as using this product was intuitive. Really needed it to access an old IDE drive as the enclosure seems to have died. Inserting the IDE drive was easy - had no difficulty aligning the pins. Applied power and the drive was immediately recognized by a laptop running Win 10.

Brilliant bit of kit, works as intended

It works beautifully, I was able to download from the box of old IDE hard drives I haven't accessed since 1999. All of the working drives were successful at downloading from. I was so happy to find old photographs of my wife and dog from more than a decade ago and some other data from the late 90s from a friend of mine that had lost his copies decades ago.PRO's: easy to use, just insert the drive, plug in power and connect the USB to your computer and turn it on.

Works Great

I have bought several disk and card readers in the past and none of them worked very well. They all were slow and very unrealizable. This one was very easy to setup and use.

This equipment works great, an opportunity to save date from your hard drives

I had some older PC's and it was always a struggle to boot them back up and collect data, photos, files from them. I recovered everything I wanted from older IDE drives, and SATA drives. Works great, read instruction and you will be on your way. Mount the hard drive, plug into your computer's USB port and turn it on. Was able to get all my data off a drive that wouldn't boot up anymore. Highly recommend this product.

Opens up some possiblities..

I got this because I have older hard drives (EIDE) that I would like to get the data off of before destruction. I've already used it for data recovery from a sata laptop hard drive. With the support of USB3 there could be a series of internal hard drives that just happen to become data backups.. Good price point, at least with my systems no need to contact tech support. Good stuff this
